HAMICO & I

My "stay at home" story

10. Amber Gardner AND HER FAMILY

3/17/2021

In this interview, we connected with the amazing Amber, the mother of a son and a daughter, the owner of online store Busy Hands. She shared with us how she is doing with her family during this time living in North-East, OH. We've also asked her to kindly share how we could together cope with the current situation and for her advice towards other mothers out there.

And of course....her experience with HAMICO💛

1. Please introduce yourself and your family!
Hi!  My name is Amber Gardner!  I have been married 8 years to my husband Dane, and we have two kids, Brooklyn age 4, and Bryson age 2.  I used to be an Early Childhood teacher, but now stay home with my children, it’s a hard job but I love every minute of it.

2. Where do you call home and what's your neighborhood like?
We live in North-East Ohio, in a very family friendly development.  The houses are close together and really give you that comfort, close knit feel.  It includes 2 separate playgrounds that the kids love, and we enjoy talking walks throughout the development when the weather permits!

3. How are you spending time with your kids these days? Would you like to share your (their) favorite activities?
The last few months due to covid restrictions, and the weather, we have been spending a lot of time in the house.  We do a lot of play-based learning, sensory bins, crafts, and read lots of books!  My daughter recently started pre-school part time, and both of my kids had their first swim class this past Saturday at our local YMCA!  They loved it.  We are excited for spring, and warmer weather to get back to being outside and going on hikes.

Their favorite activity has been family game time, specifically Candy Land, The Floor is Lava, and Memory.  A special movie night with popcorn has brought much excitement as well as a ride to the local ice cream store. 😊

4. Is there a creative or challenging project you're currently working on? If so, what inspired you to start this process?
Not at this time.

5. Could you tell us what motivates you to get up every morning? (Besides coffee!)
I would say my family motivates me to get up every morning!  That, and the fact I really try to live by the quotes, cherish every moment and live life to the fullest.  I am very routine orientated, and I know I will have a more productive day when I wake up on time, get ready before the kids, and have myself together and small chores completed like emptying the dishwasher etc.

6. Do you have any advice for other moms out there to get through this tough wave we're riding together?
To give yourself GRACE!  To remember we are all in this together, and the hardships we are all facing is only temporary, things WILL get better.  We are all navigating unchartered territory, each and every single one of us.  There is no right or wrong way of “surviving” these hardships, you can only give your absolute best every day, however that may look.  You are ENOUGH!

7. What was your experience like using a HAMICO toothbrush? Feel free to be honest lol :)
I LOVE the HAMICO toothbrushes!! When I first used it, I could not believe how soft the bristles were!  It definitely leaves your mouth feeling refreshed.  My gums feel extra healthy too 😊 Another added bonus are the fun patterns available, so cute.

8. Did your kids enjoy using BABY HAMICO and did they continue to use it?
My children used the kid’s toothbrush for ages 2-8, and they also LOVE it!  We received the cupcake, and dinosaur print and the kids think they are so cool and fun, which makes brushing teeth time so much easier.  Again, the bristles are very soft on their delicate teeth and gums, they have been so excited to brush their teeth and to use their new HAMICO toothbrushes.

9. Have you ever struggled with brushing your baby's teeth? If so, do you mind sharing about it?
I remember when my daughter was a baby (she is currently 4) I struggled brushing her teeth.  Sometimes I would have to lay her on the ground just so I could pry her mouth open to get the toothbrush in!  As she got older it did get easier.

 10. What are your favorite BABY HAMICO features?
We did not receive a BABY HAMICO at this time 😊

11. Anything else you want to share with HAMICO customers?
I really loved how soft and gentle the bristles are on my teeth and gums as well as the fun patterns.  I would highly recommend checking them out, especially if you are someone who has sensitive teeth or gums, then this toothbrush is the one for you.

9. Claire Taylor and her family

2/17/2021

In this interview, we connected with the amazing Claire, the mother of two daughters. She shared with us how she is doing with her family during this time living in Murrieta, CA. We've also asked her to kindly share how we could together cope with the current situation and for her advice towards other mothers out there.

And of course....her experience with HAMICO💛

1. Please introduce yourself and your family!
Hi y’all! I’m Claire! I am a stay at home mom to a 6 month old girl and an almost 2 1/2 year old girl!
Both lights of my life! My husbands name is Jonathan and we have been married about 3 years.
We have 3 dogs and a cat and it is as chaotic as it sounds!

2. Where do you call home and what's your neighborhood like?
We just moved to Murrieta, California! A little area right outside Temecula Wine Country.
It’s very homey feeling and perfect for kids! Parks on every corner.
One of those little feel good everybody know everybody kind of places.

3. How are you spending time with your kids these days?
Would you like to share your (their) favorite activities?
With 2 kids this young and close in age and California still under semi strict guidelines we are spending a lot of time indoors having tea parties and playing with babies! We have also acquired multiple backyard items to have our own personal park. Slowly running out of idea.. Send help!

4. Is there a creative or challenging project you're currently working on? If so, what inspired you to start this process?
Motherhood! It never ends! Right now I am doing a lot of work for myself from within!
We never really truly are done working on ourselves and the only ones who can give our children a happy mom is ourselves. Family inspired me. My girls inspire me daily.

5. Could you tell us what motivates you to get up every morning? (Besides coffee!)
MORE coffee! My family motivates me to show up every morning.
Other than that a nice long morning walk with my giant poodle sets me up for a great day!

6. Do you have any advice for other moms out there to get through this tough wave we're riding together?
I think the B E S T advice I could give is to reach out and talk to other moms about what you are going through. There is something about hearing other people’s personal experience that makes me feel at ease. Also, stay off Google!

7. What was your experience like using a HAMICO toothbrush? Feel free to be honest lol :)
My kids love them! The colors and design intrigue them! They are light and use to grip! Even for baby!

8. Did your kids enjoy using BABY HAMICO and did they continue to use it?
Yes! We have them in multiple tooth brush holders in the house!

9. Have you ever struggled with brushing your baby's teeth? If so, do you mind sharing about it?
Surprisingly my toddler LOVES brushing her teeth.
If it were up to her she would brush her teeth and wash her hands all day!

10. What are your favorite BABY HAMICO features?
How easy they are for baby to grab and hold onto!
If it makes it one step easier for me it is definitely a win!

11. Anything else you want to share with HAMICO customers?
We LOVE our Hamico brushes!!!

8. Tracey Russ and her family

1/28/2021

In this interview, we connected with the amazing Tracey, the mother of two daughters and a son. She shared with us how she is doing with her family during this time living in Austin, TX. We've also asked her to kindly share how we could together cope with the current situation and for her advice towards other mothers out there.

And of course....her experience with HAMICO💛

1. Please introduce yourself and your family!
My name is Tracey, I am a mama, ranchers wife and small business owner. We live in Dripping Springs, TX and I own a Prosthetic Clinic (artificial limbs) in Austin, TX. Our ranch is in Comfort, which is about an hour and half outside of Dripping Springs. So we split our time between home and the ranch. We have three rambunctious, funny, and adorable children ages 7, 5 and 1. They love everything animals, nature and adore ranch life. Being a wife and a mom is everything to me!

2. Where do you call home and what's your neighborhood like?
Our neighborhood is pretty spread out, the houses are on lots varying from 5 to 300 acres so we really don't see our neighbors a whole lot. The community of Dripping Springs however is an amazing one. We have made some dear friends since moving there and love the small town feel of the area.

3. How are you spending time with your kids these days? Would you like to share your (their) favorite activities?
We spend almost all of our free time outdoors. My kids love exploring in the woods, riding bikes and rollerblading. So most evenings and weekends you can find us out exploring on the land. My husband also breeds pygmy goats. So most weekends we are playing with the baby goats, which is my kids most favorite thing to do right now.

4. Is there a creative or challenging project you're currently working on? If so, what inspired you to start this process?
Right now I am focusing on growing my business through the use of social media. The pandemic is what inspired me to do this. I usually rely on face to face sales and marketing but have not had the capability to do so since COVID hit. So I am stepping into learning new things and launching online marketing campaigns. It is a work in progress!

5. Could you tell us what motivates you to get up every morning? (Besides coffee!)
My family is definitely what motivates me to get up and be inspired to be the best version of myself every day. When I wake my kids in the morning I love how happy, snuggly and sweet they are. Waking up to those hugs, kisses and snuggles definitely starts my day off right.  I also love that my children see that I can be a mother and also have a career. My 5 year old daughter loves to play "office" and pretend that she is a doctor taking care of her patients. It really makes my heart so happy to see her do this and know that she can be whoever she wants when she gets older.

6. Do you have any advice for other moms out there to get through this tough wave we're riding together?
I am a true believer that what you think about, you bring about. So I think during these trying times it is extremely important to focus on the silver linings, count your blessings for all the little things and focus upon those. I think 2020 definitely taught us that we can do more with less, and reminded us of how fortunate we are to have the little luxuries that we may have taken for granted before. Start every morning with gratitude and keep that momentum going throughout your day, you will be amazed the difference it will make in your life.

7. What was your experience like using a HAMICO toothbrush? Feel free to be honest lol :)
My children absolutely loved the toothbrushes, they got so excited over how different they were. The design, the size and the little cap that covers the bristles even excited them. We thought that they worked very well and especially loved the big handle my 1 year old could hold easily to help us brush her teeth.

8. Did your kids enjoy using BABY HAMICO and did they continue to use it?
My daughter enjoys using the Baby Hamico and tries to carry it off with her after we brush her teeth. We have used it every day since getting it and she really enjoys it. It is not a struggle because she likes that she gets to "help us" with her teeth brushing by having her hand on the handle.

9. Have you ever struggled with brushing your baby's teeth? If so, do you mind sharing about it?
Oh goodeness, yes! lol, it used to be a huge fight with my son when he was toddler. I can remember having to restrain him with my legs sometimes just to be able to brush them. He was not a fan! Luckily he outgrew this at about age 3.

10. What are your favorite BABY HAMICO features?
I like the sleek design especially on the kids toothbrushes because their mouths are so little. I feel like this toothbrush really allows them to get all sides of their teeth, especially the molars.

11. Anything else you want to share with HAMICO customers?
If you want a fun, easy brushing experience with your little one then I definitely recommend the Baby Hamico toothbrush!

7. Missy Yandow and her family

12/1/2020

In this interview, we connected with the amazing Missy, the mother of two sons and a daughter. She shared with us how she is doing with her family during this time living in Winnipeg, MB Canada. We've also asked her to kindly share how we could together cope with the current situation and for her advice towards other mothers out there.

And of course....her experience with HAMICO💛

1. Please introduce yourself and your family!

My name is Missy Yandow, I live in Rochester, NY with my husband and 3 kids: Timmy (7), Kaiya (5) and Joshua (3)

2. Where do you call home and what's your neighborhood like?
Born & raised here in Rochester. Our neighborhood is like a scene out of Mister Rogers Neighborhood. We live on a cul-de-sac with the best neighbors a girl could ask for. We're very close with each other and support each other in every way possible. From bringing each other Starbucks to watching each other's kids and sharing recipe ingredients, I love our little neighborhood.

3. How are you spending time with your kids these days? Would you like to share your (their) favorite activities?
We are all home 7 days a week, just taking this quarantine 1 day at a time. I have a preschooler, kindergartener, and 1st grader all doing school from home. I'm running Slumber and Bloom from home and my husband is a Fraud Investigator... working from home! We love having 3 meals a day together and building forts and obstacle courses.

4. Is there a creative or challenging project you're currently working on? If so, what inspired you to start this process?
I'm constantly trying to find better ways to organize our playroom and teach the kids to keep things where they belong... what inspired this?? ... THE MESS! haha

5. Could you tell us what motivates you to get up every morning? (Besides coffee!)
My kids. They are my everything and they are the reason why I do everything I do. I want to set a good example for them and show them that with determination and dedication, they can accomplish anything.

6. Do you have any advice for other moms out there to get through this tough wave we're riding together?
Take it one day at a time. Sometimes, that's too hard. And it's ok to take it one hour at a time. Plan out HOW you can get through the LONG days. Throw on some of your favorite music and dance. Dancing has ALWAYS been my release. And now my kids love to join me in silly dance parties. Call a friend, paint a picture, go for a walk.

7. What was your experience like using a HAMICO toothbrush? Feel free to be honest lol :)
Off the bat, my kids were SO excited to get new "cool" toothbrushes. They wanted to brush right away, but I made them wait until bedtime. They are actually easier to use than the ones we had previously because the head is smaller than the old ones. It was easier to reach all the way back in their mouths to brush every little crevice.

8. Did your kids enjoy using BABY HAMICO and did they continue to use it?
We let a friend use it because our "baby" is 3 years old. But she said she loves it because the ring is easy for the baby to hold onto and also makes it seem like he's "helping" to brush his teeth.

9. Have you ever struggled with brushing your baby's teeth? If so, do you mind sharing about it?
YES! My kids would fight it because they just didn't want to do it. We would have to hold their mouths open and just get in there the best we could. They're doing much better as they're getting older and more used to the process, but a fun toothbrush is always helpful!

10. What are your favorite BABY HAMICO features?
I love the smaller head and the general design. The kids say they love the designs they got!

11. Anything else you want to share with HAMICO customers?
Parenthood is a beautiful blessing. Enjoy the little moments, work through the struggles and don't be afraid to ask for help. It takes a village!

I’m from Winnipeg, Canada. We have a peaceful and friendly neighbourhood.

3. How are you spending time with your kids these days? Would you like to share your (their) favorite activities?
We do a lot of fun stuff with Kids like playing some family board games, going for a walk, reading stories with them (they love to read), going to church together, cleaning our house together, going for a short road trip with family. Eating out. And our favourite activities are mostly outdoors like camping, fishing, biking, going to the nearby park or far from home parks.

4. Is there a creative or challenging project you're currently working on? If so, what inspired you to start this process?
I consider this as a challenging one. Hehe. I am working on hosting a holiday giveaway for companies that I collaborated this coming Christmas. Their consideration and generosity inspired me to help them get more exposures and audience/customers.

5. Could you tell us what motivates you to get up every morning? (Besides coffee!)
My kids! They are the reason why I get up every morning. They motivate me and inspire me to keep on going. To do my best each day. To put on my smile even though sometimes i have a hard and rough day. They are the reason.

6. Do you have any advice for other moms out there to get through this tough wave we're riding together?
To all moms out there including me... I want you to know that it’s so important to make sure you take good care of our body, mind, and soul every day, not just when we get sick. Practicing self-care isn’t always easy especially when we have small kids. Most of us are crazy busy either at home or in our stressful jobs, or are too consumed with technology to make time for ourselves. Me-time is usually last on the agenda for us. Worse, we always feel guilty about taking the time required to take care of ourselves due to so much going around our home. But remember, we cannot take care of our little ones properly when we are drained, exhausted and and overworked.

There are many things we can do to engage in self-care.
-Eat right.
-Sleep right.
-Take a trip or just even a one day getaway and it doesn’t have to be expensive or fancy. Go for a drive, or sight seeing to rejuvenate, to recharge, to reflect, to relax, to disconnect.
-Do the things that you are passionate about and make you happy like gardening, crafting, singing or maybe sleeping . ️Call a very close friend for a coffee date - always nice to have someone to talk to after a long week being alone with kids and house chores.
-Spend outside when you get a chance - go for a walk, visit a old time friend. Spending outside helps lessen your fatigue, lower your blood pressure, reduces stress and also best way to overcome anxiety, depressions or burnout. ️ Treat yourself - go a massage or spa. Order or Eat your favourite food.
-Maintain a good spiritual life - Nurture a shared prayer, meditate on scripture, spread love wherever you go, fast and pray, attend church regularly, serve, be a grateful person, encourage someone in faith.

7. What was your experience like using a HAMICO toothbrush? Feel free to be honest lol :)
My experience using the Hamiko toothbrush is very satisfying. Not only it is a good quality but also it’s really effective in a way that it could reach very deep and cleanse the teeth properly  not like other brands that too bulky and the size gets in the way of the corners of my teeth that finds me hard to reach to clean.

8. Did your kids enjoy using BABY HAMICO and did they continue to use it?
To be honest, it was fun and memorable. The good part is I captured it and you can tell in the photos my girls are really having genuine fun using the toothbrushes. Our 1-year old Lana really stuck it in her mouth right away after we give it to her and start chewing it, feels like she’s already brushing it  but we assist her by brushing using her hand as she can hold it very nicely. Thanks to your very unique design.
And yes, we use it everyday! Twice a day! 🥰

9. Have you ever struggled with brushing your baby's teeth? If so, do you mind sharing about it?
To be honest, no, I don’t have any struggles brushing my baby’s teeth. I observed that because of the unique design she’s very fan of it and just want to have it as a toy or something to play with her mouth. That’s the big advantage there for us to have a very easy experience brushing her teeth.

10. What are your favorite BABY HAMICO features?
First, The circular design of the baby brush handle is just a very clever idea and the softness...yet very sturdy. Love it! Second, it’s from Japan! I love Japanese Products... ssshh it’s a secret!

11. Anything else you want to share with HAMICO customers?
These toothbrushes are just amazingly designed. Fun colours and shapes. No doubt for its durability. You guys should give it a try! You won’t regret it.

We’d like to share another post from "BABY (HAMICO) & I " series where we got to interview our favorite HAMICO ambassadors and take a little peek into their personal life!
In this interview, we connected with the amazing Katie, the mother of a beautiful daughter with a husband and two dogs. She shared with us how she is active on blogs and outdoor activities with her family at Ocean City, New Jersey. We've also asked her to kindly share how we could together cope with the current situation and for her advice towards other mothers out there.

And of course....her experience with HAMICO 💛

1. My name is Katie! I am happily married to my husband Matt and together we have two dogs, Cal & Bear, and one little lady Ava! Ava will be 3.5 in June!

2. We moved to Ocean City when Ava was less than a year old! It's actually my childhood summer town! It’s an island, and while we do still get a long winter we love being on the beach, bike riding, supporting the small businesses here, and just enjoying the breeze on our porch!

3. Ava and I love to go on picnics together. We also do lots of walks and collect things - seashells, pinecones, flowers! We’ve been doing loads of arts and crafts too!

4. I started a blog in January! I love it! I do two new blogs per month. It keeps me sharp and creative and constantly pushes me outside of my comfort zone

5. I am an early bird! I love getting up to seize a brand new day. I usually get up before Ava and go for a run with my dog. Getting ME time in before its Mom time really helps me be present with Ava too.

6. Life is messy and no one is perfect! No day is perfect! Give yourself grace, learn from your mistakes, and ask for help all the time (or accept the help!)

7. We loved it! To be honest I should have gone with the kids size but we did the baby size because Ava LOVES unicorns! The pattern was just too cute! Next time we will size up. The company and customer service is also amazing.

8. Yes! Ava loved her unicorn toothbrush and being able to hold it herself.

9. I haven’t! The only issue we have is that she likes to do everything herself! Ms Independent! I try to take over a few times a week to make sure we are getting all the way in the back.

10. The circular handle for the baby brush is brilliant! The patterns and designs! And again just how friendly and amazing the company / customer service is.

11. Thank you for being such an amazing company that cares so much about your customers!!!!

6. Do you have any advice for other moms out there to get through this tough wave we're riding together?
It’s a difficult time, but things will get better!! It makes you really look at the little things that we sometimes take for granted!

7. What was your experience like using a HAMICO toothbrush? Feel free to be honest lol :)
We love HAMICO toothbrushes! The bristles are so soft and the designs make my kids love them!

8. Did your kids enjoy using BABY HAMICO and did they continue to use it?
Yes! The baby toothbrush was so much easier for my kids to grip.
Even my two year old prefered the baby toothbrush even though she could hold a kids one just fine.

9. Have you ever struggled with brushing your baby's teeth? If so, do you mind sharing about it?
Yes! Sometimes they just simply don’t want you helping them and lets be honest, they don’t do the greatest job by themselves! Making a game out of it is how I get them to cooperate with me!

10. What are your favorite BABY HAMICO features?
I love how soft the bristles are and how many designs are offered! Every design is so cute!

11. Anything else you want to share with HAMICO customers?
If you’ve been on the fence about trying one, you should definitely give it a try!
My family loves HAMICO!

1. Jennifer Hunter and her babies

5/22/2020

We connected with the amazing Jennifer Hunter, the founder of  Jennifer Hunter Design, a boutique residential interior design firm based in New York City. Her work can be described as "glamorous and eclectic, yet relaxed." She has recently launched the Spring 2020 Collection of her offshoot brand, a hairpiece collection inspired by interior design textiles. She will be donating all proceeds to Mount Sinai to help purchase PPE for front-liners. Yes, she managed to do all of this in the middle of a pandemic!
She shared with us how she navigates her life as a working mom while prioritizing her family time and setting an example for her two girls. We've also asked her to kindly share how we could together cope with the current situation of the world as well as her advice for her other fellow moms.
And of course....her experience with HAMICO 💛

Please read on to learn more about Jennifer and her family below!

 1. Please introduce yourself and your family!
Hi, I am Jennifer Hunter! I am a mom to two little girls, Hadley and Elle, and an interior designer based in New York City.

 2. Where do you call home and what's your neighborhood like?
We live on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.  We love it up here as there are a lot of young families and our go-to neighborhood jaunts, but the best part is the proximity to Central Park.

 3. How are you spending time with your kids these days? Would you like to share your (their) favorite activities?
Keeping them busy in close quarters isn't the easiest, but we have been baking, crafting, and taking walks to Central Park.

 4. Is there a creative or challenging project you're currently working on? If so, what inspired you to start this process?
I am currently working on an offshoot of Jennifer Hunter Design, which is a hair collection based on and inspired by interior design textiles.  I just launched my spring collection in the middle of the pandemic and decided to donate proceeds to Mount Sinai to help purchase PEE for frontliners.

 5. Could you tell us what motivates you to get up every morning? (Besides coffee!)
Well I am usually woken up before the sun even rises by my girls.  Their energy and determination definitely motivates.  I want to set a good example of a working mama!

 6. Do you have any advice for other moms out there to get through this tough wave we're riding together?
Just try and take it day by day; if you try to look at the bigger picture it can be super overwhelming.  We are all in the same boat and I stand in solidarity with any mom out there who has moments of frustration.  I'm trying to find the silver lining in this and think of the quality time we get to spend as a family.  If I was at work I wouldn't get to see my children reach certain milestones.  There will probably never be another time in our lives quite like this.

 7. What was your experience like using a HAMICO toothbrush? Feel free to be honest lol :)
We love HAMICO! Not only are the designs super cute, but the ergonomics are awesome.  My 10 month old is able to grab the ring part easily while we guide brushing her 2 little teeth!

 8. Did your kids enjoy using BABY HAMICO and did they continue to use it?
Yes, sure did!  My toddler actually asks to brush her teeth everyday since using HAMICO!

 9. Have you ever struggled with brushing your baby's teeth? If so, do you mind sharing about it?
Yes we have and do.  My toddler likes being independent so she wants to brush her own teeth, which isn't very effective.  We usually try to go in for a few seconds after she does and re-brush.

 10. What are your favorite BABY HAMICO features?
The adorable patterns and shapes of the toothbrushes.

 11. Anything else you want to share with HAMICO customers?
Love how  HAMICO toothbrushes are designed specifically for the baby’s stage in their developmental process--genius!
